After working with the children of the families assisted by Beyond Social Services to create tote bags, pencil cases and keyrings for their Fairground Fundraiser and Social Enterprise Pilot Program, we are happy to report an excellent result at yesterday's Fairground.
The table at 1pm:
And the same table an hour later:
Within just one hour after the opening of the fundraiser, half of the crafts were sold.
John Davis and East West Artisans invested a donation of $890sgd for the materials required to make the goods and facilitated six craft sessions with the kids to prepare the crafts and they all were able to make an extra item to keep for themselves or use as a gift for their family.
We are looking forward to continuing our work with Beyond and other outreach organizations in Southeast Asia to assist them in developing self-sustainable enterprise.
A portion of any purchase on EWA ranging between 10% and 80% will be used to support future programs.
